“Now reinstated as an architectural and gastronomic delight, The Royal Hotel in Canada’s delight, The Royal Hotel, in Canada’s Prince Edward County stands resplendent once again. The project to accomplish this amazing transformation began in 2013 when the Sorbara family purchased the building and engaged Toronto architecture studio Giannone Petricone Associates to reinvent it. Pina Petricone, Principal, Giannone Petricone Associates said: ‘We were invited to interview for the project and were immediately drawn to it and excited about the possibility and the challenges of not only restoring The Royal to its early grandeur but elevating it to a glorious 21st-century version of itself it would turn out to be an even bigger undertaking than we imagined, but the rewards have also surpassed our expectations. It has been a true labor of love.”
