A Masterclass Lecture From Maria Claude Clemenete!

July 16, 2026

We’re pleased to join the 2026 Italian Contemporary Film Festival Architettura & Design program for an evening with one of Italy’s leading contemporary architects, Maria Claudia Clemente, co-founder of Labics.

As part of the 2026 ICFF lineup, Clemente will present her internationally recognized approach to designing within historically complex contexts, sharing the research, methodology, and built work behind projects including the winning proposal for the redevelopment of the Colosseum and Rome’s Imperial Fora, as well as Città del Sole, MAST, and the Palazzo dei Diamanti extension.

GPA Founding Principal Pina Petricone will join Lisa Landrum, Chair of the TMU Department of Architectural Science, in moderating an open discussion following the lecture, exploring architecture’s role as a thoughtful mediator between past and present, and the responsibility of designing within layered cultural and urban histories.

We look forward to an engaging evening of conversation with students, faculty, alumni, and the broader design community.
