Key to the winery’s production is that it elevates all that the County has to offer with creativity and commitment. Sustainable, low environmental-impact strategies will define the wine process and facility where the seeming disadvantages of flat terrain, low water, high limestone, and strong wind are harnessed to shape both the site plan and the wine production. The wine will reflect the architecture in its quiet grandness and unexpected beauty while embracing and warming the palette.

PEC Winery
Second Nature: An Agrarian Sublime
This project was born out of a passion for wine, for the lush but rugged landscape along Prince Edward County’s Lake Ontario, and for the inspiring possibilities of both. Planted with twelve acres of vines in Spring of 2022, the Farm Winery seeks to be soul enriching, a place for gathering, where one is always among friends sharing in a common passion for fine wine and authentic gastronomic experiences intrinsically tied to their agrarian context.
The complex is inspired by the informality of Ontario farms now infused with an agrarian sublime that magnetically draws each shed across a covered courtyard. Details of the design are mined from the particulars of its rich site and an inventive approach to the contemporary winery program laden with the passion and hospitality of our clients.
This PEC destination will be fashioned by a desire to welcome and embrace visitors, to offer an escape and share the amazing potential of the cultivated PEC terrain across all seasons.
